Ten categories, gaps included

This is the browsing taxonomy the channel talks in. Each category maps onto the site's real industry pages; the three categories with nothing behind them yet are marked as coverage gaps, with an explanation and a way to change that.

The coverage gaps

Coverage gap — Data CentresData centres are announced as a channel theme — the AI-infrastructure build-out — but no investigation has been completed and published yet. Rather than imply coverage that does not exist, this category is listed openly as a gap. If there is a data-centre programme you think should be examined first, nominate it and it can enter the pipeline.

Coverage gap — WaterNo investigation is filed under a standalone water industry yet. The closest case is Three Gorges Dam — a dual-nature programme that is both a hydropower project and a flood-control and river-management project; it appears above under Energy, where its record files it. A dedicated water investigation (a dam, desalination or supply programme) is an open slot, and nominations are welcome.

Coverage gap — DefenceDefence procurement is one of the richest sources of billion-dollar programme overruns, but Project Insider Asia has not published a defence investigation yet. This is a placeholder for real future coverage, not a disguised link to nothing — nominate the programme you think should come first.

Data noteThe ten categories are an editorial browsing layer over the real industry taxonomy (content/industries.json) — the same investigation–industry linkage that powers the industry pages. Counts are computed at build time, and the build fails if a mapped industry is unknown, double-mapped, or leaves a published investigation unreachable; a category whose investigations are all scheduled for future publication is shown as temporarily empty until they promote. Together the categories and 'Also explored' groups account for 25 investigation assignments across 10 real industries.
